Well, think of it this way, would you want the fan blowing to open-air or into a wall??? Even though I've seen PSU's with the fan positioning all worng :D but hey....that's what you call "bad manufacturing/design." But you souldn't have a problem with Antec, they are good ;)

oh ok. Only reason I ask is cause Ive been having noise issues with it. I was suspecting maybe it was an installation problem. The supply fan would become noisy at startup. Only way to resolve the issue would be to turn it off then immediatley turn it back on.

Do you think its faulty and I should return it?

Does it have PFC? The ones w/o it are noisier....
And sometime the fan grill is bent, so it scrapes the fan, some people just take the grill off....but I donno....I've never done that...

The PSU fan will face down. You will be unable to fit it in any other way (note the positioning of the screw holes).

The TP Trio-430 includes active PFC.

Not necessarily.

What sort of sounds are we talking about? Returning it might be the best solution. In any case, it doesn't sound like an installation problem.

It sounds like loud clicking noises as if something it stuck in between the fans.

But the weird part is that the sound is gone when I turn it off then immediatley re-turn my computer on.

The noise will only occur if I leave my computer off(turn the switch off on the PSU) for an hour or so, then later turn it back on and the noise will return. The only way to make it dissapear is if I immediatley turn off my computer, then start it back up.

Is it possible this has something to do with Antec's new cooling or power system? In any case, I dont think its suposed to make loud noises like it is everytime I start it up after a long peroid of time.

all is well now. Returned and replaced it and looks like it was a fualty PSU afterall. Everything is all quiet now. :)

Thx for the help.
