Hi all !

I'm quite noob so I want to ask you some questions :
*A strong computer is strong because ?
- The cpu is fast like : quad 2 core, core 2 extreme , ... ?
- The mainboard ???
- Fast RAMs with big memory ?
- Fast hardisk ?
... ???
Or all of them ???
*Can you check the specifications of this pc for me :

Graphic card: PCIe 8600GT Super 512MB DDR3 DVI TV Out

I'm not really a gamer and my money is limited.Can anyone give some ideas about this PC ? How good is the motherboard or how bad is it ?

What is your budget range? Would you consider building your own computer?

The 8600GT is an ok card. I had one, and it played crysis with 2GB ram and a 2.2GHz dual core.

Having a quad core proc is over kill with the 8600. buy a dual core, like around 2.7GHz, and get a better video card. Also, get ddr2 800MHz not 667MHz.
 
This combo deal here is a pretty good deal, and this dual-core processor is going to do just as well for what you're using it for. (I'm not sure what board that is that you're looking at)
 
The bad thing is I can't buy RAM 800 MHZ >.< ! I need a computer fast and I can't wait to order and ship the stuffs.The shop I bought doesn't have those RAMs.My budget is maximum 1000$ :D ! I think I'll use 8600GT for 1 or 2 years then try to ask my parents to change to a better one :D ! But honestly, I don't want to have a super computer and a very good VGA card like GeForce 280XT ,... because it will make me play too much games and I won't have time for other more important things.I think this PC is good enough for me, I need a good computer because firstly I don't want to go to shop to fix the PC often, secondly I need to use it a lot to study, I use a lot of other things too, I use many things at one time so it needs a good PC, for an example, when I chat voice, webcam, surf internet and watch a movie, my laptop lags a lot :D ! That's why I need to change ...
 
Because I asked my bro to buy so I just checked the specifications and I found it really surprising.The processor is Core 2 Quad 9400 ( I don't know if it's worse or better than 6700, probably worse ),9600 GT Super 512 MB instead of 8600 GT, better may be ? And 4Gb RAMs are 800 MHZ :)) ! I think the shop has 800 MHZ rams again, good for me !
