Newbie Needs Help - PC Slowing Down

I defrag my PC every day but everything recently started going more slowly. (Even the defrag process is now taking a long time). I know nothing about computers, but how to use email & surf the Net, so is my only option to call in a tech? What would cause this sudden slowdown? I have plenty of memory available.

scanned it for spyware/Viruses?

Also are you using Norton antivirus because that slows some things down usualy.

What do you mean by plenty of memory? and we will need to know your PC specs, such as CPU, RAM, hard drive space, operating system, etc.

You're really not suppose to do that. Since you use it online often, do you have any protection tool?
