This may sound completely ignorant to some of you, but I just bought a used Dell Inspiron 1200, and the ad said it had a Centrino 1.3 processor. When I got it, I discovered that it is actually a Celeron 1.3. Did I just get screwed?
I'm not 100% positive, but I think that Centrino can apply to both Celeron and Pentium M processors, so you didn't get screwed, Centrino is just a technology used in some laptops.
centrino is a technology that combines with pentium m and celeron m processors and has wireless capabilities.
its a brandname used to describe a family of laptops that combine these features so its not unusual that you have a celeron in your laptop
centrino is probably the motherboard type... probably better for power use, since they use it in laptops, also featuring wireless capabilities.
by the way, pentium m rules... and celeron sucks.
you probably got a decent deal, dells not bad.
