Newbie Question: Low profile cards???

OK as yall know I have been really outta date until I got this web, didnt know that the Core Duos or C2Ds were even coming out. Never knew what SLi was, now I know all that, but I dont get what "low profile" video cards are. are they just standard cards?

They are what the name says.

Low profile,smaller, half the weight and all.

I might be missing out if theres any performance difference I just know what it means, never rlly looked into it.

So you mean that a low profile card iwll not fit into a micro ATX mobo and atx case?

The cards fit into normal motherboards alreight, but they wont fit into standard ATX cases... The backp[late that you screwdown into the case on the card is half the hieght so it isnt tall enough to reach the screw hole...

Not saying you cant use the card though, just attack the backplate of the card with a dremel and away you go.

Darn... But on a review on newegg about the 6200 low profile card, one said that it WASNT low profile????
