HELP! I just bought Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12. My motherboard doesn't recognize the timings correctly. I'm not sure of the numbers that are supposed to be changed. I wrote down stuff from my BIOS. Thanks in advance for any response.

System Memory Multiplier (SPD) - auto
Memory Frequency (Mhz)- 800
CAS Latency Time - 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay - 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Precharge - 5
Precharge delay(tRAS) - 18
ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD) - 3
Rank Write to READ Delay - 3
Write to Precharge Delay - 6
Refresh to ACT Delay -42
Read to Precharge Delay - 3
tRD -6
tRD Phase adjustment - 1

DDR2 Overvoltage Control (normal)

CAS Latency Time - 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay - 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Precharge - 5
Precharge delay(tRAS) - 18
CAS Latency Time - 4
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay - 4
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Precharge - 4
Precharge delay(tRAS) - 12

The other timings have very little effect, even those 4 don't do a whole lot.

The RAM probably needs to be overvolted to be guranteed stable at those timings/speeds though. Try 1.9V or +0.1 depending on how it's show in the BIOS

Thanks a lot. Does it matter if its undervolted? Cruccial site says its 2.2V, but I read somewhere that its the maximum allowed not the recommended.

the 2.2 isnt the max that the RAM will take, it is what crucial recommends. if you arent overclocking, i would recommend sticking with 2.2

If crucial says 2.2V then go for it :)

I don't think it really needs 2.2V to be stable but it as it's what crucial says, it wont hurt anything to run it at that.
