Newegg and the Windows 7 Upgrade Option?

Windows is doing the Windows 7 Upgrade Option to let people who recently bought computers with Vista to upgrade to Windows 7 for free:

But not all companies are taking part.

Does anybody know if Newegg is doing this?

I'm about to buy a laptop, but don't want to have to pay for 7 when it comes out in a couple months.

The upgrade option is only available to consumers that purchase eligible OEM machines with Vista preinstalled; like a Dell, Sony, or HP, so Newegg wouldn't really have anything to do with it.

Not that I know of right now, though I'm sure all the OEMs (Dell, HP, etc) will start releasing that information soon, if they haven't already. Eligible computers have to be purchased between June 26, 2009 and January 31, 2010. I got that info from the article you linked to. A lot of good information there. That site will probably update with a list of eligible PCs when the information becomes available.

I emailed Newegg and they said to ask Acer. I'm waiting for Acer's reply.
It's a shame it only starts June 26th. I doubt the deal I'm getting will still be around that long.
