Newegg not always the best option.

I love Newegg, and have bought from them since I was 15 (going on 6 years of being a customer.) However, I just built the rig in my signature, and saved $120 bucks going through Amazon. Just wanting to give a heads up to anyone thinking of building a new rig. I live in Tennessee and do have to pay taxes because of the warehouse in Memphis. However, you can still save quite a bit even if you live in a state where you don't have to pay taxes through newegg. ALLSOOO, if you are a student (My fiance), free prime shipping from Amazon.
 
Want to check out Microcenter. its a walk in store but not close. maybe 20 mi.
I will keep it in mind, im positive. The hint from Jason was good. Some have a need to know.
 
Agreed. You should always shop around. When i built the recent rig, I ended up getting a couple components from Amazon as well.
 
Yes, I do agree that some places have better prices than newegg, so it is best to shop around.

But if I receive a DOA item, I much rather deal with newegg with an RMA. I have experienced their customer service firsthand and they're one of the best companies I have dealt with.

I agree, newegg is great on their RMA process. However, I did an rma for an amazon product from a seller that went very smoothly as well. When shopping on amazon, and buying from an amazon seller always make sure to go with someone with close to perfect feedback.
 
I love Newegg for the clean, easy to navigate site, user reviews, and everything is all in one place. Yes, you can find things cheaper on Amazon or other websites, but I'd rather spend a few bucks more to have a quick an painless order process and delivery.

Microcenter does have great deals on processors though.
 
All of the cpu's from microcenter I saw said that they were in store only. I've never saw a microcenter so I'm not sure if there are any close to my location :'(
 
Update: So I went to Best Buy this weekend with friends before Christmas. They were last minute shopping for a few gifts. I ended up in the computer parts section (obviously.) I was looking at power supplies and cases and started comparing prices to newegg. I actually found a few parts that were a little cheaper than newegg or at least the same price. I was shocked.

Not their regular price though, and they don't have nearly the options that you do on Newegg.

Oh I agree. Their selection of parts is soooo bad. One good find was the Thermaltake Black Widow for $15 cheaper than newegg. Also the Antec 300 was cheaper as well. I wouldn't recommend buying from Best Buy. I was just amazed that they had anything cheaper.
