Newegg starts selling 4GB RAM Sticks

I don't know who that's a reasonable price to but if you got money to blow it's awesome. Personally, I'll have to wait a while for the price to drop.

I hate to burst your bubble but Kingston came out with the 4GB sticks before G-Skill... :rolleyes:
Besides that, i would probably never get that much ram.. :P
I have 2GB right now and thats good for now...
You only really need 3GB+ if you do video rendering right?
Or something like that.

This was the same thing several years ago when I first noticed they had 2GB sticks, now look at it, you can get a 2GB stick for $30!

yea 3+ is usally for that video rendering stuff. or if you want to show off :D

yea my build was a cheapo but i plan to continuaously update it you know...

like the next thing on my list is a vid card+cod4 and so far i have about $120 saved up:D
 
eh i havent even gone over 1.5 gigs in a game yet, so screw having four or eight!

thats just nuts lol
 
Id like 16GB in the near future. I bet we would have said the same about 4GB a couple years back. Or even 1GB back in the 90s.

Why in the world would you buy 6GB of RAM? I can understand if you used your computer as a serious workhorse, but you only have an X2 5200+, and a low-end x1550...

Not to mention you are running Windows XP, which hardly uses any resources compared to Vista, I can't see you using more then 2-3GB of RAM.
 
Wasn't Crucial the first company to come out with 4GB sticks? I don't believe that would've shown up on Newegg, but I do believe I recall being amazed at the 4GB sticks quite some time ago. I could be wrong though!
