newer dvd writers...

alot of these newer dvd rewrite drives wont read the WIN XP os disk. had to swap mine to load xp on second hard drive for gaming.

just posting this cause some like XP rather then WIN7.

I doubt thats true. Unless maybe you have a burnt copy of the os disk?

Thats right John, I would even go as far as saying All dvd drives either ide or sata on the market today can read any genuine Microsoft Windows OS disk.

I also find it hard to believe that genuine OS disks couldn't be read.

I haven't really had a problem with new drives reading XP CDs either.
