putting a computer in the box, not the capacitor :P

gonna have a single blue CCFL light in it i think... not sure on what im gonna do, i need to find a dremel and drill first... i think i can work something out with my neighbor..

hmmm... 5 Farad..
immagine putting one of those into one of these

(using a suiting 12V battery ofcourse. ;) )

edit: Putting 2 4700uF in such a thing ruined my dad's credit card... so i cant even immagine what that would do... :D

But,.. nice idea Ku-sama,.. i gues that would kinda redefine the term laptop :)

damn, well since you said so.... i guess im not allowed to try :P

so, with an 80MM fan sucking air out where the processor is and one blowing in rihgt near the RAM and the CPU suking in air for the clear top would be enough air?

and it is lines with a cloth material, if i add the stand offs, I'll have to cut out a hole on the top due to the height of the CPU HSF, so if i grab an antistatic bag and put it underneath do you think i could screw it right onto the back of the metal box for grounding?

i would rather push air in using fan's,.. creating a bit pressur inside (the air goes out by itself anyway ;) )

i edited it... right now im charging the batteries to shit shitty camera so i can take pics of the case...

yes.. you could screw is rith onto the metal of the case.. buuut... make sure you put something strong between the motherboard and the case, so the small soldered pins cant get through it. ( so.. i'd suggest put a wooden plank between it, and take out the cloth on the places where you need to :) )

edit, also, a heatsink fan should blow into the heatsink.. if you let it pull the air through (assuming its a standard heatsink), the air wont pass through the hottest spot of the heatsink ( right on top of the CPU) since it would be pulled from the side, and right up and away ;)

pictures are on the way, but your kinda missing the problem... there is a 4-5mm gap between the CPU's fan and the top of the box, so i can put a spacer in, but maybe a thin antistatic spounge material?

I dont see a problem of the Fan beeing so close to the top of the case? i would make a nice grid of holes in the top of the case, so it can draw cold air from the outside then.

I will, but what im saying is, i can put a spacer in there or else the top of the plastic would have to be cut out as there ist any clearance as is with no spacers.... i would have to cut out an opening so the fan can actully fit... here... ill show you an example...

but if you put the Mainboard on the back of the metal case, it would actually fit in the case? well... see if you can get a like 1mm thick film of lexan... that should work perfectly if you put that between the motherboard and the case :)

Like i said.. 1mm thick lexan should do fine (at least.. lexan cant be staticly carged,.. can it? ) anyhow.. just 1 antistatic bag would be too few... you would risk the woldered pieces of the motherboard puncture it, and shorting something.

also.. you definately dont want the heatsink/fan to be hit-able from the outside, since that could break up the thermal connection to the CPU etc.. so imo, cutting a big hole in the plexiglass front is out of the question :)

imo, cutting a big hole in the plexiglass front is out of the question :)

thats what i was saying i was going to stop from happening at all costs, thats why i cant go over any height beyond my guitar pick... the padded material is spongey and there arent any sharp points on the back of this mobo so it should be okay with just the bag.... there are 4 layers of the bag, the bag is huge and folded over......

if i were you.. i ould remove the cloth from the back of the case,.. I wouldnt want anything spongy behind my motherboard tbh, especially a motherboard in a portable case needs good support. i would remove the cloth, and put 3 or 4 bags behind it,.. that should do fine :)

well, its also going to be in a place where it could take a beating, i want some support... and by spongy i dont mean like its impressionable, its just soft, if i screw it into the metal then it will be sturdy...

Just a question.. why are you posting it at all, asking for advice, if the only thing you do is turning that down? it are just suggestions i make, ofcourse you dont need to lissen to that. My point is just... if you keep the cloth behind it, and tighten she screw's.. because of the cloth, the soldered pin's on the back (like PCI and RAM slots etc) might pierce the antistatic bag.
and imo, that something you absolutely dont want.. since the bag's may not be able to charge staticly,.. the cloth certainly is..

i know where your getting your logic... the materials im working are hard to describe.... nothing on the back of the motheboard protruded enough to stab through 4 layers of the bag, and there arent any sharp points on the motherboard.... point of this thread was to get some openions.... let me just clarify, i cant overtighten the scres because of the plastic HSF mounting bracket on the back of the motherboard so i cant rigoroustly tighten down the motherboard or else the motherboard will have stress fractures....
