So thats my camera.
Its a digital / video camera.


I want to get into some video recording, and editing it, like advanced video editing.


I am not looking for full HD video recordings.
But decent video capturing.



Does this camera do the trick?

I never really messed with the video feature, and now its getting repaired and replaced by nikon, for an internal camera issue.

Well, if you want to go with video editing, you might have to upgrade a little.

The S1 records at 15 frames per second, so it may not be the best choice for editing. Most point and shoot now a days usually come with about 30 fps, which is better.
 
I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC46 and i love it. Iv had it for maybe a little over half a year now. But of course i paid a little over $600 for it.....

Been a great camera though, never had one problem with it, not even little problems. Records in widescreen or normal and has a 2.7" wide hybrid LCD touchscreen with a 1 megapixel CCD captures images at 1152x864 with decent quality (may need photoshop to make the colors more vibrant). And its very easy to use, although iv never used the "easy mode" on it. I highly recommend it, heres my youtube so you can see some of the videos iv made with it, has a very decent mic on it as well:
