nikon D40x

Hello

Im currently using a compact digital camera and I want to dive into the new world of DSLR's. I have been looking at some of the lower end DSLR's and i have found this one which tickles my fancy

Has anyone got this camera and could you tell me the good and bad points about it. Is this a nice SLR camera for me as a beginner? Will it last me as I get more confident with photography? Im not sure if it has anti-shake or not which probably seems like a good idea for me.

I would go with a Canon and I would look for a used one

Don't just buy a camera because of brand. Actually go to a store and hold/ test the cameras before making any purchase.
