No Audio Output Device

I've recently installed Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) onto my laptop (Gateway, 1.66 ghz, dual-core processor, 1gb ram), but now I have no audio output device, is there a possibilility that I could download one (plz lve a link if available) or anyway to solve this problem, I would really appreciate it.

wait. did your computer come with vista or you just install a retail version. also the modle number plz
 
It sounds like your sound card drivers are not installed. We need to know specifically what sound card or chipset you are running. It actually shouldn't be too hard to go to gateway's website and download the drivers yourself using the model number from the PC.
