No Difference between 3.5 and 8

Hey guys,
I used to have the windows vista premium 32 bit installed on my computer which has 8 gigs of ram. This was by mistake because the guy at the computer store installed the wrong copy. I recently went back and got the 64 bit premium and I was looking forward to a huge increase in speed because 32 bit only uses 3.5gigs and when I installed the 64 bit it would use all my 8 gigs of ram. It's no faster now then it was before. Everythings the same speed, its takes the same amount of time to start, same time to open programs, everything. Did I do something wrong? I installed the 64 bit and everything is working properely but some how its no faster!

This is the computer

Unless your running some really intensive programs I doubt you were even using all of the 3.5. So just having access to the rest, when what you had wasnt being used up will make no difference. As a example, have 2gbs and not using it all and upgrading to 4 isnt going to make any difference.

That's because your computer is probably not even using 3 gigs of ram. You can take a look in your task manager, Vista should use about 1-1.5gigs of ram just sitting there. I've personally never seen my computer use over 3.5 gigs of ram.
