no display

im working on a HP nc8000 and im not getting any display. its been dropped before. any help. we get power but then shuts down after about 4 secs.
 
HP nc8000 is laptop right ? Is it plugged in or working on battery...which might be totally dead/empty if this is the case...
 
Probably more an issue linked to power supply to my view, which someone doesn't goes as it should ...but sorry, I don't have a clue (checked also on the HP customer support website and specs of your comp but couldn't find anything helpful...)

Maybe someone else could help ?
