No Feedback on screen

Hi to all who is helping me , My computer screen is not showing anyting it is just black . i tried replacing the lcd inverter but it still did not work. What is wrong with my computer. btw i tried a external monitor but it is not getting any feedback

I'm guessing the onboard video is dead on your laptop, since an external monitor didn't work either. When you turn the laptop on, do you see lights and hear the hard drive spin up?
