No ink to printer

I have an older Lexmark printer (Mud ink). I didn't use it for awhile, and now it won't print, even with a new cartridge. Just yellow lines.
Is it toast? I tried cleaning the jets via computer command. Help. Thanks, Dan.

I'd keep on trying to clean it, eventually it'll free up... hopefully. If a printer hasn't been used in a while or hasn't shut down properly, they heads tend to dry up. You can try to free it up with constant cleaning of the heads.

Yeah, I had the exact same problem. I got my parents old printers, and the first one i tried just printed yellow. I even tried "new" ink cartridges, but it didnt work. I did the same with another old printer, and used "new" ink and it still didnt work. So I figured, since it didnt work on our computer downstairs either, that it was the ink. Turns out that even though the ink had never been opened or used, it was just too old and dried up. We got new ink from a store and it worked great. Hopefully that works for you.

yea, go and clean the heads of the printers, and get a new cartridge of ink. make sure dust doesn't accumulate in it or anything, & its not clogged or anything also. then do a couple cleaning runs with the program it came with.
