No middle ground?

Hey all, I am having a terrible time trying to find a good laptop:|:| It's like if you want something to word processing it's cheap, but you even think you want to play a game and the price goes up to like 1500-2000...I don't have that kind of money right now...is there no middle ground? I want to game, but not spend a ton, I want mobility so a desktop won't cut it, I want speed AND power not one or the other. Come on guys/girls I know you can help me find something that I can snuggle up next to and play Neverwinter Nights 2 on!!!!

I was thinking 1200 would be like the high end of my wimpy little budget, preferably 900-1100, I just sold my lappy in my sig for 800 on ebay...(Some people on here think I'm being scammed, I hope to high heaven that they are wrong) so that's going towards a new lappy and I don't want to spend much more than 400 out of pocket.

Edit: I posted a dell laptop in a different thread, it was the best I can build on their site withen my budget and someone said it wouldn't even play oblivion (Which the laptop in my sig would).

That one is 1238...a little more than I wanted to spend but a decent looking Vostro. One thing, should I upgrade the processor to a t7500 2.2 ghz and downgrade the ram to 1gb, will that boost performance over the 2.0 ghz and 2 gb ram?

yeah that seems pretty nice

im guessing that a vostro over there is a inspiron over here?

i suggest you downgrade the ram and then go buy some more on ebay
its pretty cheap there

lol, I don't know what the heck to do...every decent lappy I make goes way over budget...I wish I could build my own.
