no os new hard drive

My computer crashed hard i lost my os and fried my hard drive. I got the 3 sony viao disk and they said that it didn't detect a hard drive. I went out and got a wd scorpio blue, and put it in my computer. It still ask me for my os when i start the recovery process and I don't know how to fix that with what i have. I don't have any installation media for my new hard drive, and I don't have any installation disk for any drivers. Do I need professional help or can I use what I have to fix this mess.

The sony recovery disks should preinstall the sata controller driver so that it detects the hard drive. However, go into the bios and see if there is a setting to change the sata controller to native ide/compatibility instead of ahci.
