Hi,

I have an urgent problem, i have recently bought a new nvidia geforce 8600 gt graphics card ( 1gb) and the other day i tried to run a game on it for the first time, ms flight simulator x, and as the game was 'loading terrain resources' the screen started flickering and then eventually the monitor said no video input received. I had a GPU temp monitor running at the time, which stated that it was running at 58 degrees, so i don't think it was an overheat issue. I then tried to boot the computer back up and i had very flickery video output, so i turned it off and went to bed, i got up this morning and turned it on, no video output at all, however the computer doesn't exhibit any other signs of error, i have tried using my old graphics card, running from inbuilt graphics, and resetting the CMOS. No avail, i have no idea what to do!

Please Help!
Thank you :)

Sounds like the motherboard is dead. I would try using a different cable and monitor as tyler said.

So are you saying that your old GPU had the same issue (screen flickering)?

ive plugged the same cable and motherboard into my other computer and it works fine, is that the same thing?

So you're saying the same motherboard in your broken PC in a working PC works fine, and changing the GPU in your broken PC did nothing? Maybe it's a PSU issue.

nono sorry, the monitor and vga cable work fine in another pc, and yes, changing the gpu, and even using stock graphics in the broken PC did nothing. How could it be a PSU issue? all of the lights etc come on, the hdd spins up, and all the fans work

Think the minimum is something like 350W. There is no way that 300W Asus Delta 300 even has 300W on the 12V rail. My guess is if you reset the power supply. Shutting down, unplug and hit the power button a few times. It might boot back up. But the power supply is too small.

yeah its up and running, so i am on a power supply calculator and im already up to 300w and i havent even finished plugging all my stuff in yet, so i reckon i wont run any games yet as ill probably draw too much power, can you recommend any PSU that will meet my requirements and is cheap?
