No power to keyboard, so i cant format PC

hi guys,

i want to format my pc, so i've changed the boot sequence from hard drive to cd drive, restarted pc but when it says "press any key to boot from CD" my keyboard does not power up the keyboard so i cant press any buttons so it just boots the xp i want to format :(

my specs are pretty good as you can see from my signature and i built it myself.

any helps much appreciated

If your using a USB keyboard. You need to get a PS/2 keyboard or a PS/2 adaptor, go into the Bios and enable USB keyboard support.

ah thanks for the help

ive tried a PS/2 - USB converter and thats still doesnt work, even when i get onto xp using the converter i cant type

ill have a look for that enable USB keyboard support
 
hmm no luck on "enabling USB keyboard support" i cant find that in bios and the only similar things i found was these;

in power management:

ACPI Suspend type S3 [suspend to ram]
- Resume by USB from S3 [Enabled]

Power on function [any key]

( i changed Power on function [button only] to [any key] and that did not help)

any ideas :confused:
