Hi i havent been on for a while, but somthings up with my Computer first off ill give my specs
Its a :
Medion MD8080 Desktop
Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHz 478
2x 256 DDR 133 RAM
ATi Radeon 9600+ (was a 9800+ but it burned out)
1X 250GB WD HDD IDE
Micro ATX (i think)
2 unknown DVD R + RW drives

Well, what happened is that i was using a 2d Physics game called Phun (it never usually does this), then my PC froze. i Manually turned off my PC but it didnt work, so i unplugged the PC.
I turned it on and well.. nothing, i heard the PC running, no HDD clicking sound. but just a black screen, the monitor was on, Normally the PC turns on and Its loud then the sound goes down, but it doesnt do that normally no beeps, and no beeps now. Ive tried Taking out the Power Cord and holding Power button for 1 minute, but same thing happens, this happened to me About 3-4 years ago, but the monitor displayer 'No Signal' it doesnt do than now, then i had to change the Mobo because the Chipset burned out, what shall i do.. Anyone, i know its old, buts its a good machine :O

BTW, last time it Burned out because/ my bro used to always hold the power button when turning off. if its the motherboard, im dead as they r expensive for an old maching, from EBAY GERMANY (the pc is german) so that sucks. Any suggestions?

You can start by running a diagnostic on the hard drive. Sometimes when the hdd has errors or has failed, the pc won't boot up. Try disconnecting the hard drive and see if the computer will post.

to be honest its not much of an old HDD, its quite NEW. but no clicking sounds, POST is Power On Self Test Right, also, here is no beeps, in this PC normally and now. Ill try when my dads not around, things have broken around me so much times he calls me the 'destroyer' and hes gonna kill me if he finds out lol ive broken 6 PC's (NOT on purpose.) well 1 i put the FSB too high and well the MOBO was in smoke

GUYs, I think I know what's causing the Problem. it might be my DVD drive.. if that's possible. because when I turn it on, the DVD RW drive opens as normal. but the DVD ROM Drives ,does not do ANYTHING, no light no nothing, so shall i try disconnecting that and trying

So it doesn't light up briefly? Check to make sure its plugged in first. If its plugged in then yes, unplug it and see if the computer works. Sometimes when hardware fails it stops the computer from working.

Well... i think its the Mobo, i tried every possible hardware, except video, this mobo does NOT have onboard video, so i cant check that, i pulled my old mobo out and i checked the chipset on the old one it was RED and well burned out
and the new one, well where it was red ON THE old one but on the new Chipset it was grey? so is the chipset burned out, can i get a replacement CHIPSET

but there is a possibility the CPU is burned out as there is 2 clips on the Board to hold the Fan in place, well one of them had Snapped and landed on the bottom of the PC. and it melted so the Cooler was half off? i have no idea what the temp is and how to check it because it wont post... so yeah. might be the CPU i think it is a SL6WK somthing or the other i dont know
. btw it didnt look burned at all,

I have drawn a crappy diagram in paint :D

Sorry, had to resize it it was like 1600x1200 lol so now its 640x480

The gray on the chipset is gonna be thermal compound. If the cooling fan for the cpu doesn't not go down tight to the cpu, that may be the issue you have. You may have bad ram from the original burnt up board or other defective hardware now. You will have to do some diagnosing.

Oh, yeah, i checked the RAM, AND the TV tuner, AND THE dvd AND the DVD RW, AND THE network card, and the HDD, but.. nothing. SO maybe it is the CPU? I dont really know, it seems weird as i was only playing games and it CRASHED PEICE OF INTEL CRAP, (lol look at my sig :D)

BTW i dont think it is ram as i replaced this board over 3 years ago, this ram is still kicking in... i think....

Hey, now when i turn it on, after about 1 minute it turns off, then turns on after 1 second in turns off then the cycle continues (sometimes the length varies)

I used to have the same problem. A random crash and then i try to boot up again and nothing, or turn on then off. I realized the issue was one of the fan connectors on the mother board. It was loose and slightly separated so i just soldered it back and it worded fine. So check that all the connectors are tight and secure.
