No sound after installing E-mu 1212m

Hey

I have just bought and installed an emu 1212m with no troubles until i went to play music and realised i have no sound.

I installed the 1010 card not into the slot that the original soundcard came out of and the 0202 into the slot the original came out of. I'm not sure if that is an issue? Also there was a plug the came off of the old soundcard that i couldnt find an attachment for on the 1212 so i didnt plug it in to anything. Just wondering if you could help me out, installation of software was fine and the card was recognised, although in the sound directory i cannot adjust the volume the whole area is shaded in grey where you cannot click on anything. I have no sound in itunes, fruity and other music apps.

The 1010 is the main card and there is a cord that connects it with the daughter board (the 0202)


If you could give me any hints that would be great.

If you go into your control panel and select the performance and maintenance, then system, and then go to hardware and select, click on device manager and see if any of the item have a yellow "?". I had this problem when I was loading up my HDD for the first time, it didn't recognize the driver. I had to manuelly select the audio driver. I can't remember exactly how I did it tough Sorry, hopefully this will help a bit?
If you load up windows media player and try to play some music does an error message pop-up? That's what mine did.
