No sound except Skype

Hello,

I just bought a desktop PC with Windows Vista installed. For a day or two, it worked just fine. I have made some unknown changes in its audio setup, but am not so sure.

Now I can use Skype and other voice messaging services without any problem. But apart from that, there is no sound. No sound from youtube, no system sound at startup or any other page which has audio or video?

Any help please let me know as I have checked that the drivers are working without any problem. No problem with the device manager sound drivers.

Go into audio in control panel and make sure you have a sound scheme selected.

The other possibility that I can think of immediately is if you have an active skype call by default windows 7 will reduce the volume of all other applications by 80%. In your sound settings check what options you have set on the communications tab.
