no sound!!

hey guys i just reformatted my laptop which is a Dell XPS m140. this was a clean install so i deleted all my drivers. after my reinstall, i tried installing all of my drivers and every single one except my sound driver worked. I have tried everything...so now i'm stuck.I open up the device manager and there is a big yellow question mark under unknown devices and next to it it says audio device on high definition audio bus. anyone have any idea how i can fix this problem?

Under system devices is there an entry for high definition audio bus or microsofts UAA bus driver? if not then you need to install that first before the sound driver can be installed.

u need to install Sp2 then the hd audio drivers (with it comes a hotfiix you need - DO NOT INSTALL SP3 UNTIL THIS IS APPLIED)

get the audio drivers from the dell support site
