no sub woof with tv card.

I recently installed WinTV-HVR1600 card for getting cable tv on the monitor. I have a geforce 7600GT graphic card and a asus p5b mobo set up for 5.1 sound right now. the subwoofer i have works with games, cds, sound files except with the tv card. I tried doing the audio configuration that you normally do with the tv card and alittle playing around with the speaker cables. Is this any kind of known issue ?
 
Is there any type of audio through cable or what not that has to be used? My first thought is that it's simply not being processed if it must go through the Line-In as some capture cards work...
 
nothing about that in the instructs. I will try some experiments with the line in thought ,thanks. the configuration setup is rather simple .It offers 4 audio inputs choices /wintv wave, or line in . there are two other choices but the 'type' is distorted as if not usable .
