no threads

why do case fans have no threads for me to place the screws in

most of the time i have ended up wreaking the screw heads as the screw driver wont go into the holes to hold the fan in place

well in the 3 diff make/brands i have bought haven't had threads

i have had to force them in


could some one enlighten me to why this is?

All fans are like that, you make the threads yourself by screwing the screw in, it's no problem.

It'd probably be too much hassle to make the threads at the factory and the fans are only made of soft plastic, so the screw is the easiest method.

2 of the fans i bought the plastic were like metal so the screws got messed up

You just have to apply a fair bit of pressure for them to sink it...

My fans have threads in them, don't know why yours don't.

Very few actually have threads including some metal framed fans.
It's a matter of using one hand to support the fan, a proper sized philips screwdriver, and applying presser while screwing them in.
Not all cases, screws, or fans are created equal. Some can be easy to screw into place, other can be very difficult.
