All the pieces fit together. When I powered it on, the motherboard LEDs light up.I can open the DVD drive. I put the DVD with Ubuntu in and closed it. The DVD drive lights up as it should and the disk spins up, but nothing appears on the screen. I don't even see anything from the BIOS. I intended to connect my TV via HDMI to the on-board video, but when it didn't work, I also tried the VGA port with my TV, and with a different computer monitor. Nothing showed on either screen through HDMI or VGA. When the TV was connected, it just said “no signal” on the screen. When the monitor was connected, it didn't even wake up. I bought one of those new motherboards that works with the GPU built into the CPU. I've never used that type of graphics setup before, so that's probably where my problem is.
