Hi, I've got a problem.

I got a G-force card and sometimes i download new drivers to install, so it gets better performance etc. I also got a Radeon , and sometime i change cards, just for fun, and to see the difference between the cards.

The problem:
When i install my new card, I reboot, When the Win Xp Loadin screen is passed, you should see the Welcome of windows, but the screen is black, usually this is because of bad drivers, but i tried 12 different drivers, but none is working, i can only get to win Xp with the safemode. I tried deinstalling and put the G-froce back in, i installed the drivers, and rebooted, but the problem is still here, I now have a computer with a Videocard, without a driver :S because none fit.

I personally think this comes because of old and bad files which are still here, but which i can't delet, please help me with this!

Thnx!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is your welcome screen running at a higher resolution than your monitor can display? (this would explain why you see the bootup screen and can run in safe mode, try setting the resolution to 640x480 in safe mode and booting normally)

nice toughts! :) i tried it, i tried some resolutions, but no positive reaction from my PC ...
I tried to recover the system, but as i already thought, .. no luck :<

please, more thoughts and replys are welcome! :)

is the screen blank or Fuzzy because my friend had a Compaq Moniter on a S3 GFX card and when reinstalled Xp you would have to go to Safe mode and Delete the GFX Card Driver and boot up normally and it would work ok then

I have no onboard card, only agp slot,
I re-installed Xp, got a new hard disk, and changed my motherboard, and quess what, it still won;t work!!!! :| this is realy redicules... :( hmz... should my ATI radeon be down ? i can run in safe mode :| ???????????????

Yeah I recently had this problem switching cards a while back. Make sure you clean every sort of driver before putting the other card in. Also it really doesnt help that one card is an Ati and the other is Nvidia...

Even delete any software that you installed for it.
After that you might want to try to use the disk that came with the video card just to get it working then update your drivers...

hey what kind of driver mess is that?

Expect some serious drop in performance if anything. What are your system specs anyway, did you install all mobo drivers after your OS reinstall? AGP drivers etc.
