guys i have a dell laptop with built in wireless card, where I live I always "piggyback" on someone elses network. Most of the networks are pretty much unsecure. I always connect but lately the past 2 days I am unable to connect for some reason??? I cannot connect with the other networks barely; but when I do the signal is very low. keep in mind all the networks I try to connect to are unsecure. any input is appreciated thanks.......

First, its illegal to just piggyback on other peoples connection without them knowing.

As for your problem, it may just be because the owners of the networks moved their router someplace else, or made changes to it so you cant recieve their signal.

yes i know it is illegal; but i am friendly with them.... the network always has full connection but i just cant connect and when i refresh it states security enabled.? ive been connecting for 4 months on this connection. would it be my wireless card? or is it a hit and miss on the wireless cards? in other words it cannot "jus semi-work" it either does or dont?

thanks .........

you might be having problem with interference... many thing can play a part in this. Wireless phones, bluetooth, metal wall supports, distance... SOLAR FLARES! I would ask if they moved the router.

if your friends and ya are buddies, why not just go ask them? move their router to the closest wall to your house:)

since this is illegal, should it really be discussed?

Yea everytime i make a phone call from my bedroom on the house phone i get disconnected... maybe someone has set up an active phone line signal somewhere close ( thats just a long shot) you should really get a new wireless card anywayz ther are way better ones out there instead of the factory one that came with your labtop im guessing...
