Noctua NH-C12P installation???

Hey guys, i was wandering how the NH-C12P mounting works. Ive mounted everything together very tight but still the base of the heatsink is not touching the CPU and paste. Is that the proper installation as im very confused to how it works. I'm pretty sure i read some review about it have a little space so it cooled the other parts, just not sure if it applies to this.

Any info or tips will be great guys, Thanks!
 
Thanks for the response, the picture did not fully show the base being directly touched onto the CPU (it showing will be pretty hard). I think i should change the holding brackets around and see how that goes. Thanks anyways! Oh btw im still up for some tips, thanks guy!
