Noise Level

Putting together a list of parts for a new computer for graphics, cadd, computations and of course games.

Looking for opinions on sound levels on Video cards; looking right now at 7900's.....GTX, GT, GS.
But other suggestions would be appreciated.

I need to minimize overall sound to maintain the ocassionally peaceful office environment.

Get aftermarket passive coolers for the CPU and GPU, that will cut the noise level down dramatically.

The 7900GTX's cooler is very good, and also quite quiet

If you have the money, you could invest in a water-cooling system. Particularly, a Zalman Reserator 2.

Liquid cooling CPU and GPU = No fans on the graphics card or on the CPU.
Passive liquid cooling = No fans on the radiator either.

If you dont have the money, then follow diduknowthat's advice and get a passive cooler.
