Noisy computer - Fans or ?

Until you correct the fan error it is likely to boot into the BIOS. I think you may have to take it to a tech to check the fan

I don't get why it suddenly needs two fans. I have always only have had one connected..... So you can't deactivate the CPU fan 2 somehow, since 1 is going just fine?

Well it's certainly possible that your CPU fan isn't ramping up high enough and your BIOS is detecting that. It clearly can tell it's plugged in as it shows detected.

Does it give you any RPM reading in the BIOS? Would follow that your CPU fan is also the source of your noise problem.

Very well might be able to disable CPU Fan 2, need to poke around in BIOS.

Hmmm....
I disconnected the CPU fan and the noise was still there, so I am positive that the noise problem is from the PSU.

I think the fan hub is only a 2 wire, doesn't it only show the RPM reading with a 3 wire?

Check your bios settings for a "halt on error" option and disable it for optional cpu fan. Not sure why you would have 2 cpu fan headers. How long did you leave the cpu fan not connected? Running it without the fan for even a minute or so may have caused damage to the cpu.

Okay, so I checked BIOS settings for "halt on error". Couldn't find it, didn't change anything, pressed save and restart and the error disappeared. I have absolutely no idea why. Anyway, I guess it's fixed or?

Also, is there some way I can test if my CPU has taken any damage?

Well that is definitely weird.

As far as the cpu goes, just use it and see if crashes start to happen or possible overheating. Not sure what cpu you have but newer ones are designed to shut down before any damage but there is always a possibility.
