Noisy Hard drive

My Hard drive i extremly noisy i am not sure if this is a fault with in the product as i have recently purchased silent fans for my computer and it has only just become noticeable. I have been thinking of buying a new hard drive anyway and was wondering if there was a silent hard drive on the market.

has your hdd started to slow down at all. It sound like it wil be on the way out soon, i would get a new drive asap. Try look at http://www.quietpc.com/uk/components.php#samsunghdd

what harddrive do you have at the moment

A lot of hard drives are pretty loud, maxtors especially. I have a seagate barracuda and it's pretty quiet

i was gonna say maxtors are generally crunchy and loud, although im guessing the crunchy is a bad problem, oh well.
