I've been reading most of the "101's" on here and learned quite a bit but have also become obsessed/confused. Been quite some time since I have played with computers so I'm trying to play catch up in the knowledge category. I just found out you can run two video cards at once for God sake!
On to my question:
Looking to upgrade my graphics card since I currently have a Geforce 6150 (Horrid I know) and this isn't really fit to run my games. I have been looking at either the 8600 or 8800. Is it really worth the extra $200 for the 8800? I assume the 8600 would run games like WoW and Half life without a prob but ya'll are the experts.
My setup thus far:
HP pavillion a1700n w/ 3800+ AMD athlon 64 x 2
4G's of DDR2 RAM
