Noob put together a pc

Now I am sure I messed this up royally somehow. I went on Newegg and just put together a few things. This is NOT what I am getting but I want to make sure all the parts would be compatible. At this point I am not worried about which will run best together. If this would work well together let me know too! I did not include a monitor (have an HD TV) or memory. I just want to make sure I got the most important things right.

My goal is to have a pc that can run games smoothly (mid to high level graphics). I do not need a hardcore gaming machine, but would like to be able to enjoy the graphics through HDMI on my tv.

All compatible. But:

You haven't chosen any RAM. You will want a 2x2GB 1600mhz kit

The motherboard is intel branded. It might not be able to overclock as intel motherboards can be limited.
 
Something I'd point out is that for the price of the 5770, the GTX 460 (768 MB) is a much better mid level gaming GPU. You might consider spending about $50 more which would put you at the bottom tier of the higher level GPUs with either the HD 6850 or the GTX 460 (1 GB), I think you'd be a lot happier with the game play.

Also, I think linkin's right about the Intel MB. It'd be a shame to have a chip like the 550 that loves to OC and a MB that doesn't support it.

Could you link me the video cards you are referring to and also which mobo would be better?

What is the difference between the i3 and i5? (Told ya im a noob lol).

Also, if I get the GPU, motherboard, and CPU i suggested along with the rest of the stuff in my original post, would that be a decent setup? Will the 520 watt power supply be enough?
 
The better i5's are true quadcores, the i3's are dual cores with hyperthreadinng, in reality they are about a 3 core processors.
 
An i5-750 with a HD6850 or GTX460 (1GB) would make a very nice gaming system - a BIG step up from an i3-550/5770 setup for $120. The 520W SeaSonic would be just fine.
