Noob question: Dual Channel

They are color coded. Put both in the yellow slots. The manual should explain it, if its in one yellow and one black. But I am 99% sure its the same color.

Do i need to do anything in the setup before the computer starts to access the dual channel? My computer is only reading one of the 2 gb pieces I am putting in.

Nope, Just plug your RAM ( Same specs / brand preferably ) in the proper channels ( as directed by your MOBO manual - or PC mfr ) - and your PC will do the rest.

I did my part, my computer isn't living up to it's end of the bargain =\

I have 4 GB total (2x2gb) DDR Kingston 800MHz.
Both sticks came in the same package, it says dual channel on it.

I'm putting it in the right slots, and it's not reading the second stick.

All of my RAM works, I've tested it individually, booting up with 1 stick at a time (I also had 2 1gb sticks up til today)

When I use the black slots at all, the computer will turn on and not give me visuals. When I use the second yellow slot only, the computer does the same thing.

It only works when I have either the first or both yellow slots filled, although it won't read the second yellow slot.

Try running memtest86 on each module individually...
