Noob to laptops

Hi, I'm totally new with owning a Laptop, and I'm confused of which of these two laptops have better performance, they look pretty much the same.

1st:

Looks like the only difference between is the Processor, and obviously motherboard.

Which would give me the best performance?

I always go with Intel based laptops. i know the first generation Turions were pretty slow in comparison to Core2's. I've not had much direct experience, but I hear they are still a step behind comparable Intel processors.

Aside from that, the computers are probably essentially identical. Case/port layout even looks the same.
