Noob to overclocking of CPU

Can someone explain to me how u guy gd about overclocking ? and what are the negative effect on the system is something goes wrong ? yep .. jsut interested to know more about it .. and does it affect my system performance ?

if its a HP, Dell, or Sony, theres a big no go for overclocking, give us your system specs, if you purchased it whole, then tell us make and model

well you cant overclock a brand name comp but you can overclock it if you built it yourself

my com i buought is part by part ... it has no brand ... i'm on intel celeron 2.4ghz 128 cache 478 pin core speeed 2400 mhz Fsb 100 mhz Bus speed 400mhz Mainboard ECS M935D Bios Brand amercian mega... inc . Mermory DDR SD RAM 512MB , Ati 9250 128mb ... ya .. do u wan to know aobut the ram timing ?
