Noobish Over Clocking Question

Hey all,
I want to try overclocking my system for fun and knowledge. However, I am still unclear on the numbers. Is it safe to overclock the fsb from 1ghz to 1.6 ghz(actual: 266mhz to 400mhz) using stock cooler? I am trying to achieve 1:1 ratio with my 800mhz memory.
If it is possible, how much boost should I expect?
Sorry for the dumb question, please help me though.

My specs:
Asus p5b deluxe (fsb up to 1333, ram up to 800)
Core 2 duo e6400 2.13 ghz (1ghz fsb)
Corsair xms2 800mhz ddr2
2 x Ati x1650xt in crossfire mode
so and so...

Thats a pretty stout overclocking running stock cooling but it might be reachable Toms has a good article on reach +400 fsb speeds http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/10/...lls/page3.html

the issue is you are likely going to have to increase the voltage to get it stable and that causing extra heating concerns! You do have to keep in mind there is not a definitive answer to your question as overclocking is not exact and varies from system to system

only one way to fine out. keep uping the fsb but increments and boot to desktop each time if it boots keep increasing it and repeat. try to get TAT so you can monitor the temp and dont let it go pass 60c idle
