im looking at core 2 duo motherboards... whats the difference between one north bridge chipset and another? i mean as long as it has all the features i want shouldnt that be good enough?
specifically... intel 965 chipset vs. nvidia 570 SLI edition

I've heard that the 5xx is a far superior chipset.

I can only remember one thing about it, but i know there are pages on it if you google it. The thing i can remember, is that you can use both LAN ports together, to make a 2GB LAN connection.

Its all about the features, more expensive board mean more feature-full chipset meaning more goodies to play with on the mother board :D

Nvidia Chipset on Intel boards suck pretty much from what i've been hearing. Intel chip is exactly just that. it's just the newer, more up-to-date chip set that support the newest technology. But you'd be better off looking at a 975X chipset.
