Norton Antivirus Live Update!

Hi,
I am using Norton Antivirus 2005, and i am having problems with live update from symantec. Whenever i download and install them it gets to the end and drops out. It says "the updates have failed because a file that is in use was about to be overwritten.To successfully download these, close down all your Syamntec and Norton software and then run live update again." Well it said something like that. Well any way can any one help because it is annoying and i think it is quite important because they are virus definitions. So if any one can help that would be brilliant thanks.

are you going to symantecs web site and manually Downloading the virus defs and running them on your pc or are you using live update to get your virus defs. ?
it is possible that spyware or virus is blocking somehow.
I would try uninstalling all the symantec or norton and reboot and reinstall

That or end the norton processes. Ctrl+Alt+delete then go to the processes and then find norton and end the process then try and live update, or get it off the website.
