Norton: "latest virus protection updates are not valid"

a little box appears on my screen from
Norton/Symanetec
says: "your latest virus protection updates are not valid"

why is this?
I click on OK (little grey button in the box) and it just
disappears?
what is supposed to be done?
what is the problem?
 
the problem is that you have norton advice IT SUCKS heres a site www.majorgeeks.com do a search for avg antivirus and get rid of norton

my gateway had it on it when i bought it and i scanned it and it showed nothing, i downloaded avg i couldnt beleive the crap that norton "skipped over" or as i like to say put on my computer it really works and best of all ITS FREE
