Norton to Avast

My Norton expires in mid March and I will be removing it and installing AVAST. I know to uninstall Norton and then run the norton removal tool to rid the comp of any other files associated with it. I assume I can then just install AVAST, update, scan, and be good to go. Is there anything else I am forgetting? Is AVAST easy to use in that I can just get it up and running, or are there some tricks to it?

It is quite easy to use, their website walks you through registration, installation and use. Make sure to register it is free and gives you a one year subscription whereas it is only 60 days if you do not register.

i prefer using kaspersky

if you'd look in toptenreview.com u'll see it's the best anti-virus. my brother has avast too, but it doesn't get rid all the viruses and malware. correct me if i'm wrong.

I still use ad-aware se and I use the AV that came with it, along with e-trust patrol on active protection. I have very few problems and very little spy-ware/mal-ware. Maybe it is because I have vista, lol....

hah...
