Not able to get updates for Microsoft

Ok, I've been out of the IT loop for a while.

I installed a brand new copy of Windows XP Home 32bit SP2 and I can't get any updates for Microsoft.

Everytime I click on "windows updates" it brings me to the Microsoft web site where I then click "express".

Next I get a message saying, "the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view".

I then installed internet explorer 8 and again I get the same message.

XP SP2 is no longer supported. You need to install SP3 before you can get anymore updates.

When it asks if you want to go to Microsoft Update or proceed with download, choose Proceed With Download.

And when you do go to do updates in future, do custom. Express is buggy.

Download and install service pack 3. Then try getting updates.

Oops voyager beat me to it. Yeah do custom not express.
