Not enough slots for my fans

So I just got a new motherboard. A Foxconn M61PMV. I replaced my old mobo and hooked this one up, but now i realize there arent enough connections to hook up all my fans.I have 2 fans that aren't running right now and am woundering if there is a way to power them. I have a connection for the cpu fan and the system fan. Maybe, if possible, I could get a splitter to connect multiple fans to one connection?

Also if anyone knows... my computer's "thinking" light isn't plugged into my mobo right now. I don't know where to plug it in. it is a 3 prong plug but font know where I could connect it to. If anyone has any info to help I would greatly appreciate it.

You should go to the Foxconn website and at the very least, get the Owner's Manual, which will show you where to connect your front panel LEDs (and you should download whatever other files/drivers they have for your MOBO in case they are newer versions or, just in case you need them later on -- save (burn) them to a CD-R for a backp copy).

[the site's pages seem to be a little slow in loading but they DO open]

As for hooking up the fans, you can get Molex "pass-through connectors" and hook them all up to one Molex connector, or get a splitter cable as you mentioned. They ALL don't HAVE to connect to the motherboard as many cases have way more fans than almost all mobos have fan pinouts for them.

Good luck...

If you are talking about this four pin connector then I think there are 2 ports in the mother board.

If you look on mihir's picture, the HDD LED (thinking light) will plug into the bank of coloured pins to the left the the NB/SB heatsink, on the far left. It should have writing on the board to say what pin equates to what connector.

Also, I would NEVER use a splitter for motherboard fan headers. Fans don't use a lot of pwer whilst in use, but can draw a lot when they first spin up, and the fan headers them selves don't have massive power tolerances, so it is extremely easy to use a splitter, put even 2 fans on there and fry it, which will certainly kill the header and void your warranty, but could also potentially kill the motherboard completely

Splitters: I was talking about any "excess" case-cooling fans running off molex splitters from the PSU, not splitters connected to mobo pinouts.

He still needs to get the mobo Manual...
