Not reading all my RAM

Is that the only program that reads half the RAM? It could just be an error with dxdiag, try another program.

Also, are you sure they sent you a 512MB stick? What does it say on the actual RAM, it might be 256MB stick accidentally.
 
Does the computer have integrated graphics? If it does, maybe it's using 256MB of your RAM, you can check this in BIOS if you know it is integrated.
 
No, it dosent have integrated graphics. The stick of RAM is deffently supposed to be 512Mb.
 
Ok I just checked my RAM with CPU-Z and it says I have 512mb. So is all the RAM working?
 
Yup, I wold thnk so if CPUz recognizes it. There must be a problem with your dxdiag, 've never had it only recognize a portion of my RAM.
