Not sure if this goes here, but...

Hello,

I am not sure if this goes here or not, but I am having some issues with my laptop.

I cannot get my laptop to "go" online, even if it is connected to my wireless network.

I am running a wireless network in my house, and everything connects just fine, except for my old laptop. My new laptop, my PSP, my Playstation 3, they all connect just fine to the network. My old laptop has had no problems being on the wireless here before, just recently. It says it is connected, but when I try to open my list of nearby wireless networks, it says "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection". Also, no programs can connect to the net, like I.E., Firefox, MSN Messenger, etc.. Nothing will actually go online.

Any ideas? I am running Windows XP Pro on the old laptop. I don't understand why it would go from working for months to all of a sudden not working.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Disconnect then reconnect the wifi card.
Reboot the PC
Recycle the modem/wireless router.

Those always seem to fix the problems.

Thank you for the reply, and sorry mine is so late. :(

I have one question: how exactly do I recycle the router? Or do you mean it as in unplugging and restarting? This is the first time I've heard the term recycling, so I'm not sure if that's what you meant or not.

If it is, I gave that a shot and it gave no solution. One of my friends thinks it's because two things are trying to access the wireless and are causing problems for each other. But I have no idea what he's talking about.

Any ideas?
