Looking at the alienware m17
what are Dual 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3870 comparable to a desktop graphics card?
How well will they run games?
 
Of course mobility will never be as good as the desktop version but it will run games fine goofball 2 times 512mb graphics cards? For a laptop of course it'll run amazing.
 
I heard alienware was really crappy and you could get a laptop with all the good stuff an alienware has + more for the same or less than an alienware, it just wouldn't have the case...? Anyone to back that up?

Alienware is by no means crappy, they are just overpriced when it comes to price/performance.
